Never visit spam sites that you see in your transaction history
You’ll often see things like this in your EOS account transaction history: They will ask you to go to a legit looking site (in this case it has already been taken down). You’ll be asked to login and complete the transfer. For older versions of Scatter which do not protect against updateauth transactions, they will try to swap your private keys for theirs and you will permanently lose control of your account.
EOS Authority Bot SCAM ALERT
Just want to get the word out because the scammers have built a bot in Telegram that steals your private keys. If you get a message telling you to go to @EOSauthoritys_bot DO NOT GO ANY FURTHER. This is a scam account that walks you through the process of giving up your private keys and you will lose access to your accounts. The private key starts with “5…” and is 51 characters long. DO NOT GIVE ANYONE YOUR PRIVATE KEYS. EVER.
